TERMS & CONDITIONS

GROUP CLASSES (5-12 STUDENTS)

 

Fees

  • A non-refundable registration fee of S$25 applies for all new and ex-students. Persons whose last lesson with Living Strings was more than six months ago from the new course date would be considered ex-students and will be required to pay the student registration fee again.

  • With effect from 1 June 2018, course material fee of S$10 applies for all new course sign-ups.

  • With effect from 1 May 2019, fees for group courses will be revised. The S$10 course material fee will be included in the fees.

  • Full course fees (inclusive of all course materials) are payable upfront before the start of the first (1st) lesson.

 

Cancellation and Refunds

Each sign-up is non-transferable nor refundable once the course has commenced unless the lessons are not able to continue / commence due to insufficient signups or unforeseen circumstances. There will be no refund for students who drop out halfway.

 

Course Confirmation

  • Each space can only be guaranteed upon payment of the course fees.

  • Each class will only commence if there is a minimum of 5 students. If the class enrolment is fewer than 5 persons on the close of registration date, the class will be deemed a small group class (please see Terms & Conditions for small group classes) with higher course fees applicable but the enrolled student has the option to join other classes within the same batch, if available, or to withdraw enrolment, where a full refund for any amounts paid with respect to the course will be given. 

 

Lesson Unavailability

  • There will be no make up lesson for students who miss their lessons, with the exception of ONE (1) free make up lesson for students who fall ill on a lesson day and can produce a valid Medical Certificate (MC). However, should the student still wish to have a make up lesson, private make up lessons can be arranged and chargeable at the difference between the current hourly rate for individual vs group lessons. For example, the current price of ukulele group lesson is S$20 per hour while the current price of ukulele individual lesson is S$40 per hour. The student who wants to arrange for a private ukulele make-up lesson will have to pay S$20 ($40-$20). The make-up lesson must take place before the next group lesson timing and is subject to instructor availability.

  • Should the instructor be unable to teach for a lesson due to sudden medical or other urgent reasons, Living Strings Music will arrange for another instructor to stand-in and teach that lesson or the lessons will be pushed back by one week.

Others

  • For guitar and ukulele courses, students are required to bring their own instruments to class. 

  • Living Strings Music will not bear any liability for any loss of property or personal injuries during classes or within its premises.

 

​Personal Data Disclosure Consent

By accepting these terms and conditions, you agree that Living Strings Music may collect, use and disclose your personal data, as provided in this application form, or obtained by our organization as a result of your membership (such as class photos, events), for the following purposes in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012:

  • the processing of this membership application; 

  • the administration of the membership with our organization;

  • in the context of photo-taking or video recording, for images of class in action or events, to be allowed for the organization’s marketing purposes.

Should you wish to withdraw consent to the usage of your personal data for marketing purposes, you may do so in writing to contact@livingstrings.com.sg. 

SMALL GROUP CLASS (2-4 STUDENTS)

 

Fees

  • A non-refundable registration fee of S$25 applies for all new and ex-students. Persons whose last lesson with Living Strings was more than six months ago from the new course date would be considered ex-students and will be required to pay the student registration fee again.

  • With effect from 1 June 2018, course material fee of S$10 applies for all new course sign-ups.

  • With effect from 1 May 2019, fees for group courses will be revised. The S$10 course material fee will be included in the fees.

  • Full course fees (inclusive of all course materials) are payable upfront before the start of the first (1st) lesson.

INDIVIDUAL LESSONS

 

Fees

  • A non-refundable registration fee of S$25 applies for all new and ex-students. Persons whose last lesson with Living Strings was more than six months ago from the new course date would be considered ex-students and will be required to pay the student registration fee again.

  • Monthly fees for 4 lessons are payable upfront before the start of every first lesson of the month. Pro-rated fees will be charged for students who commence classes mid-month. All fees paid for non-refundable.

 

Lesson Unavailability

  • Both the teacher and student are required to inform our school at least three (3) working days before your lesson, should either party wish to reschedule the lesson. The rescheduled lesson must take place within 30 days of the original scheduled lesson.

  • Should the late cancellation be due to sudden medical or other urgent reasons, a medical certificate (MC) and/or other supporting evidence will have to be produced, and a makeup lesson will be arranged for the lesson missed. 

  • The student has to give at least 1 month's written notice should he need to suspend or terminate his course. Our instructors need to be informed in advance as they need to plan their lesson timetable and scheduling. Should the student miss out on regular lessons and fail to inform us, we will continue to charge the student for lessons until fees have been fully utilised.
